It is important that Americans vote because the type of government in the United States is a democracy; the people get their own say. If one does not vote, they have no reason to complain about who gets elected since they did not even contribute to the voting. They did not try and voice their opinion. It is important that Americans follow politics because they will be able to make educated decisions; if they did not know which political platforms certain politicians stood on, for example, how would they be able to make their vote?

People who do not vote should not be able to complain about or get mad a who gets elected because they did not participate in the election.
