Thruths About Politics

There are many promises that are not fulfilled. -
Many vote without being educated. -
Candidates could never win without others. 0
A lot of money is spent on TV ads that do not inform voters. -
Campaigns are simple. 0
A politician is a figure head for a whole group. 0
Media focus goes toward who "won" debates, instead of the facts. -
People worry about being "politically correct" instead of saying it how it is. -
Votes are often "owned" by other people. -
Votes are traded for different bills. -
Some candidates only vote based in their parties, not their own beliefs. -
Incumbents usually win elections. 0
The primaries towards the end often do not matter. -
There are not any real debates without rules anymore. -
Many elected officals are not truly connected with the average person. -
Big scandals often get more air time than the important issues. -
Gridlock in government is often an issue when a bill needs to be passed. -
The president has power, but not too much. +
Momentum plays a huge role in primaries. 0
It is basically impossible to run for a position in Washington without having a large amount of money. -

Constituent Letter

Dear Pat Meehan,

Do you think it is far that some live in the United States illegally, receiving the same benefits as those who are legal in the United States? It is crucial that the United States protects its borders. The House Bill 1299 offers many solutions to the imminent problem.

The United States does not protect the borders well enough, but H. R. 1299 will help solve the issue. Illegal immigrants do not pay income taxes, as well as take American's jobs. During rough economic times, Americans need jobs. There is a legal way to gain citizenship, but many choose to enter illegally instead. The bill states multiple ways to solve the issue. All of the solutions together will substantially decrease the number illegal immigrants entering the United States, as well a lower crime rate on the border.

Support H. R. 1299, it is what America needs. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Sincerely,
Jason

Abortion

1. Are there unsuccessful abortions?

Yes, they are somewhat rare, but they do happen. "However, the infant survived the procedure, carried out on Saturday in the Rossano Calabro hospital, and was left by doctors to die." There are many horror stories off babies being aborted but still alive.

2. How many abortions are there per year in the United States?

There are around 1.3 million abortions per year in the United States. "If current rates continue, it is estimated that 35% of all women of reproductive age in America today will have had an abortion by the time they reach the age of 45."

3. How hard/easy is it to get an abortion?

There are the new morning after pills that can be bought with relative ease. Abortions are relatively easy. Some insurance companies will even pay for a person to have an abortion. The ease depends on the reason of abortion. "The 1967 Abortion Act makes abortion legal if the pregnancy is less than 24 weeks and two doctors agree that the abortion can be carried out."
