Thruths About Politics

There are many promises that are not fulfilled. -
Many vote without being educated. -
Candidates could never win without others. 0
A lot of money is spent on TV ads that do not inform voters. -
Campaigns are simple. 0
A politician is a figure head for a whole group. 0
Media focus goes toward who "won" debates, instead of the facts. -
People worry about being "politically correct" instead of saying it how it is. -
Votes are often "owned" by other people. -
Votes are traded for different bills. -
Some candidates only vote based in their parties, not their own beliefs. -
Incumbents usually win elections. 0
The primaries towards the end often do not matter. -
There are not any real debates without rules anymore. -
Many elected officals are not truly connected with the average person. -
Big scandals often get more air time than the important issues. -
Gridlock in government is often an issue when a bill needs to be passed. -
The president has power, but not too much. +
Momentum plays a huge role in primaries. 0
It is basically impossible to run for a position in Washington without having a large amount of money. -

  1. Yes, but the medias idea of popularity is based on their own agenda and corp. interests. Which is sad because they've lost any kind of credibility, and as far as I'm concerned, have turned their syndicate into nothing more than 'reality' television - hey, it too worked for Snooky so I guess it can't be all bad - which is okay if that's the reputation your looking for.
