The government American system of power and checks and balances is like a human body. A body needs many parts to survive, just like the House and Senate need each other to make laws and they both need the executive branch to finalize the law and enforce it. A human body also checks itself. The immune system oversees any problems that could happen, or if your body is cold you get goosebumps. Just like a body, the government reacts to other events that happen in the government.
add a visual as well.
ReplyDeleteI really like this metaphor. I feel like you actually took the time to sit down and balance how the comparison should have been made, two thumbs up! My first question is:where do you think the system of checks and balances//immune system has failed us? Secondly, although not part of the assignment, where on the body would you put the voters?
ReplyDeleteThis is a really detailed and thought provoking metaphor. However, some organs and body parts are not necessary to live. Some, like, the heart are. Which parts of government are vital for our system to continue? Are there any specific things we could potentially get rid of because they are not that beneficial?
